Jan 21st, 2008 by admin| In February 1963 Agung mountain, the highest volcanic mountain in Bali had dreadfully exploded. Outpourings of its dust caused dust rain and sand in all over of the Bali Island. Flows of hot mud spat from its stomach caused many sacrifice of souls, most of the families lost their houses and land for agriculture that become source of their living.Synod of the Protestant Christian in Bali supported by its all congregations and Church World Service (CWS) established a barrack in Kapal Village, Badung to accommodate those who become victims of Agung Mountain by supplies training on modern agriculture to prepare them join transmigration program to Sulawesi and other islands in Indonesia.Since the time various of agriculture programs to increase family economy developed in Kapal so that, this place known by surround community as church’ land for agriculture development project.There were many programs failed in the first five years that might be caused by lack of management and understanding of Christian, it was very difficult for the rich men come in to the kingdom of heaven so that it is better become poor but have eternal property in heaven.The Protestant Christian Church in Bali (GKPB) formally registered its activity in Kapal as the Maha Bhoga Marga (MBM) foundation in 1982 to notary office Sugiarti Hostiadi, SH with notarial document number 140.
The Maha Bhoga Marga meant “The way to find a great blessing or the way to prosperity”. As a deacon institution of GKPB, MBM has a vision: “To become noble way to prosperity” and mission is “to release the weak, suppressed, undeveloped people to become prosperous, love His creature and all creations”. In implementing its program MBM never depend on any religious and ethnic. |
